By the time this entry is being auto-uploaded, I will be in Singapore, standing alongside with more than 350 trail runners to compete at The North Face 100 challenge (100km duo open category).
Actually, I did not even register for this race. I was contacted three days after Raya, with a question, “Hey Nik, do you want to run at TNF100, doing 50km trail run? I’m injured and cannot run, and my partner needs a new team mate”.
I hesitated at first because from that offering date until today, I only had about three weeks to extensively train myself up. I was not sure how much I can add up in that little amount of time, on top of the level of fitness I’ve maintained during the fasting month and anything prior to that. Plus, I’m pretty sure there would be some other strong runners who can simply run 50km at anytime.
Anyway, I finally said yes to the offer and started some little hardcore training program. I was not very sure why I decided to give it a go. But three days ago when I wrote this entry and set it for auto-upload, I found the perfect answer.
There were few reasons why I kept this below the radar and my apology for not admitting or denying to some questions some of you have thrown at me regarding this. Hey, at least I’m not pirating this one okay!
So, my preparation time is up. And let see if I can come back with another race report.
